Being a woman of the Bronx allowed me to be groomed by the challenges of my community, while embracing my Garifuna Afro-Latina identity which allowed me to be grateful enough to be the change I want to see. I love being from the Bronx, it has a nice way of letting you be - so long as “you ain’t trying to play us”! I love the slang it gives me permission to use to get my point across in corporate and community. It’s pretty awesome. You gotta be from here to get it!
