Kathleen Fraser Jackson, 62, was born in the 1950s when mixed race relationships were frowned upon by society. Her mum, who wasn’t supported by her own parents, felt she could give her children a better life by giving her children up for adoption.
The emotional moment the three were reunited was shown on ITV’s Long Lost Family. Kathleen, from Wembley, north west London, was put up for adoption at just three-months-old.
She set out to find her birth family, despite going on to have five children and 12 grandchildren of her own. She didn’t know that her mum Kathleen Senior, 87, had given up another child for adoption, Jean, now 68.
